ArtsIT 2018 - 7th EAI International Conference: ArtsIT, Interactivity & Game Creation

Michael Johansson will be representing Ideal Spaces at the European Alliance for Innovation’s annual conference: ArtsIT, Interactivity & Game Creation, where he will be presenting the paper; Worldmaking: designing for audience participation, immersion and interaction in virtual and real spaces by Andreas Siess, Daniel Hepperle, Matthias Wolfel, and Michael Johansson.
Ulrich Gehmann and Matt Bühler will be representing Ideal Spaces at the European Cultural Centre's first conference, with a presentation and participation in a panel on Culture for Sustainable Cities.
“Shaping the City : A Forum for Sustainable Cities and Communities” includes all participating architectural schools and universities from across the globe from the ECC's current TIME SPACE EXISTENCE exhibition, along with other international institutions and architecture studios. The conference is to be held over 2 days on the 12th and 13th of October 2018 with a lineup of speakers, panels, from the different participants and guests.
The conference aims to inspire the next frontier of research focused on the structure of cities, culture for sustainability, resilience, livable communities, and architectural developments and advancements. This forum is conceived to exchange about the urban future of cities from universities, practitioners, architects, and others. A place where city changers meet and network with other passionate, innovative, inspiring professionals and researchers.
Over the course of 2 days, four sub-themes will be addressed, each presented by a keynote speaker, discussed by a panel of experts, and elaborated through case studies.

Ideal Spaces team member Yulia Leonova will be presenting at next meeting of the International Association of Space Semiotics with a presentation entitled: 'Three otherness of Ibirapuera park in São Paulo: deciphering Roberto Burle Marx's project'.
This conference will be considering issues of the cultural landscape as a symbolic system, heterotopias as emergent marks in the context of this system, and the problem of visual representation of these signs and systems in art and architecture.
Yulia participated in the meeting of the International Association of Space Semiotics in Moscow Academy of Arts with a presentation entitled: 'Three otherness of Ibirapuera park in São Paulo: deciphering Roberto Burle Marx's project'. She described the Ibirapuera Park as one of the Worlds made by Ideal Spaces team for the Exhibition in Venice 2018. To the presented topic of the highly semiotized space produced by the Brazilian architects and cultural promoters, President of the IASSp+T Pierre Pellegrino, added his considerations about the level of violent crimes in the country striking contrasting to the intentions of the new national identity developers.
