Loss of Cultural Heritage
An international workshop and exhibition, Ideal Spaces and Ettore Mazzola, University of Notre Dame/Rome, September 4-6
Loss of cultural heritage is a pivotal issue today, but not confined to architecture. Heritage is more than just tradition, it is an active, lived experience that provides identity and belonging. Cultural heritage defines our Self-understanding and our image of the human, who we are and intend to be, our collective consciousness, and our everyday life. It is the root of our existence. Cultural heritage today is being threatened from different directions, by various forces combining into a dynamics of destruction.
These forces will be examined in our event; which will combine the spoken word with imagery, integrating art and reasoning in a new kind of event format.
