Humanitas and the Harmony of Place. Accademia Vivarium Novum, Frascati

Ulrich Gehmann from Ideal Spaces made a presentation at the Villa Falconieri, home of the renowned Accademia Vivarium Novum in Frascati/Italy, He presented at the international symposium Humanitas and the Harmony of Place. In Memory of Leon Krier, May 28-31. The topic of his presentation was about placelessness today, with its cultural backgrounds and consequences for different recent life worlds. Loss of Cultural Heritage. Ideal Spaces Venue, Karlsruhe

We want to announce our forthcoming workshop on the loss of cultural heritage, hosted by Ideal Spaces and Prof. Ettore Mazzola at the Ideal Spaces Foundation venue Nesslerstr. 16, Karlsruhe/Germany, September 04-06, 2016. Participation is free of charge, and possible both in person and online. Amongst others, speakers will be Prof. Mazzola, Prof. Jason Montgomery, Anna Schluth, Jessica Croteau, Prof. Anna de Jong. A complete line up will follow in August. The event will be a new format, combining imagery, visual presentations, and speech/discussion. We continued our podcast series about art, community, and the city with Jessie Croteau from the Ecological Design Collective, Francesco Procacci about compound cities and their destructive effects on the city as community, Liga Andersone about bringing back communal affairs to the younger generation, Ethan Kent from PacemakingX about community building, Ron Cox about concrete communities, Martin Savfransky about ways for liveable futures, Natasha Sharma & Dee Moxon about art as a means community building, Jonathan Kennedy from the British Council about community and art, Alex Josephson about new ideal cities, Andy Harrod about community building via gardening.

In our series about the younger generation, we had podcasts with Ana Schluth, Sarah Haeflinger, Luke Kelly and Jackson T. Montgomery about their visions of the city of the future. And with Syfromfaraway about his peer groups and social behaviour.

On our German website, we had a podcast with Isabel Engelmann about the role of art today; and with Dennis Nitsche about citizen participation in urban planning.

Journal Urban Eidos

Our 7th issue Dissolution of the City came out, dealing with several aspects of a recent fragmentation of cities, together with their artistic expression. More on this you find at https://urban-eidos.com/issues/issue-7-2026/.

Our next issue, no. 8, will be about cultural heritage.

Social Media

We are expanding our presence in social media by introducing our podcasts to Substack, and also by expanding on YouTube.
